Privacy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. In plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy.

Who we are

Ambitious Tradies is a marketing business based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, working with trade businesses across Australia. You can reach us at hello@ambitioustradies.com . We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect when you fill in a form

There are two forms on this site and they are not the same size.

The short one is the free audit form near the top and the bottom of most pages. It asks for four things: your business name, your suburb, your trade, and your email.

The audit form asks for those four, plus your name, your phone number, and anything else you want to tell us. Your name, phone number and message are yours to leave blank.

Both go to the same place. We use what you send to run the audit you asked for and to email you the result. Two emails: one when you ask, and one within a business day with what we found.

We store it in this website’s own database and send ourselves a copy so it does not get missed. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, and asking for an audit does not put you on a mailing list. We keep it until you ask us to delete it. If you become a client and later leave, your files are kept for 3 months and then deleted. Proposals and research we prepare for you are kept for 6 months.

The result email links to your audit on its own page here, at a long address that only you are sent. Nothing links to it, it is kept out of search, and it is not a page anyone can guess their way onto.

There is one more field on both forms that you will never see. If it comes back filled in, a bot filled it, and we bin the lot. If you are a person it stays empty and nothing happens.

The seven calculators do their arithmetic in your browser. The numbers you type never reach us.

The online presence check, the map & review check and the AI answer test go out and read live search results, and that costs us money every time, so we keep a record of each run: what you typed, which page you ran it from, and what came back. None of them ask for an email address, so we do not have one. No name, no phone number, and no IP address — not your address and not a scrambled version of it. They are kept in this website’s own database and copied to a Google Sheet we use to read them. Those records are deleted from both after ninety days.

The website freshness check reads the public pages of the website you type in, straight from that site. We keep what it found for six hours so a second check of the same site comes back straight away, and we keep no record of who ran it.

There is a limit that stops one person running checks all day. It works off a one-way scramble of your connection that cannot be turned back into an address, and it is never written into anything we keep.

The chat

The chat in the corner of the page is an AI assistant. It answers from what is on this website, and it can get things wrong, so check anything that matters with us before you rely on it.

What you type goes to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI model behind it, so it can write the answer. Anthropic’s own privacy terms apply: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

We keep each question, the answer it got, the page you asked it from, and a random number that groups one conversation together. We read them to see what people want to know and to make the site answer it better. The chat does not ask for your name, email or phone number. If you type them in anyway, they are kept with the question, so leave them out unless you want us to have them.

We do not keep your IP address. A one-way scramble of your connection counts how many questions have been asked in a day so one person cannot run up the bill, and it is gone within a day.

We keep chat records until you ask us to delete them. They are stored in this website’s own database and copied to a Google Sheet we use to read them.

What your browser remembers

If you set your trade and suburb, your browser stores those two values locally so the pages talk about your patch. They stay on your device. They are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

If you use the chat, your browser keeps a random chat number for seven days. Come back on the same device in that time and your conversation is still there, fetched from this website with that number. Closing the chat with the cross clears the number straight away.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and which do not. It records things like the page you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. It does not tell us who you are. Google is the other party here and its own privacy terms apply: policies.google.com/privacy. You can block it with any standard browser tracking protection or ad blocker and the site will work exactly the same. It uses cookies to do its counting.

Who else touches your data

Our site is hosted by Hostinger. Email reaches us through the hosting mail service and Google. Analytics is Google, and so is the spreadsheet we read enquiries and chat questions in. The chat’s answers are written by Anthropic’s AI model. Booking a call runs on Cal.com, which takes your name, your email and the time you pick. The online presence check, the map & review check and the AI answer test send what you type to search-data providers (Serper and DataForSEO) and to OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini) and Perplexity, so they can answer. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam bots; Cloudflare sees your browser and IP address when a form loads. Some of these services store data outside Australia. Those are the only third parties involved in running this site. We do not share enquiry details with anyone else.

Getting a copy, or getting it deleted

Email us and ask. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. There is no form and no fee. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this changes we will change this page and update the date below. We will not quietly widen what we do with your details and leave the old page up.
